This is a new walk for the group and we had a good turnout
of 15. David led the walk, which was
extended to include a visit to the cross above Senija.
We did a recce for this walk with David and Rosemary a few months
ago, and agreed that it would be most suitable as a summer walk because it is
quite flat (except for the extension to the cross).
It
was cooler than last week, though still warm enough for shorts.
After Senija we started to climb out of the village on a
good path
As we climbed we had good views over the Jalon valley
Jan’s wrist is much better, though she still needs the wrist
support. She has been promised physio
at Denia hospital, but no appointment yet.
At this point we had gone downhill again on the recce, but
today we had a short water stop before the final climb up to the cross.
A good opportunity for a photo. There will be at least five less next
week. David and Rosemary, and Peter and
Ann, return to the UK for the summer.
Wendy is off for a four week caravan holiday.
After the cross it was down hill and then an easy walk
through the “hidden valley”
We
arrived back in Lliber just after 3pm, a quite respectable five hour walk.
Not our first walk to end at the bar in the village
square. This has always been one of the
highlights of any Lliber walk
A
very serious looking study of Tom, Pat. Mike and Peter.
20 May 2013
Meet in Javea at the harbour car park at 10am. Walk to San Antonio and then to the Tower
overlooking Denia.
