4 November 2013 – Castells Rock Arch

Yesterday it was 30c in the shade, so most of us were not really prepared for a drop in the temperature.   Fortunately Jan told me to wear my waistcoat as it was chilly when we left the house.  By the time we got to Castells it felt quite cold
I forgot my camera, so we have David to thank for these photos.  But Mike did even better.  He forgot his haversack and his walking boots.   It was too far to go back to collect them, so he missed the walk.  But he did make it back for the after walk drinks in the bar
I mentioned that most of us were not prepared for the cooler weather.  The exception was Peter, who was wearing his brand new jacket.   Not sure why the straw was stuffed down the front, perhaps he is trying to tell us something?
We were all surprised to find this blaze of colour amongst the standard shades of green.   This, together with the fall in temperature, seems to indicate that autumn has finally arrived.
By the time we had walked for an hour or so we were all feeling much warmer and more comfortable.   Not sure where Ken (right, at the side of the house) is off to.
Pat and Peter went off to explore the Rock Arches on their own, the rest of us found a sheltered spot to wait for them.
