Twelve of us for this old favourite. Sylvia, Ken and Tom were unable to walk, but Dave
and Sue made up the numbers.
The winter has arrived at last. It was sunny but very cold. However we soon warmed up as the walk starts
with a long steep road climb
We had snow on the mountains for the first time this year,
in fact the first time for a few years.
Despite the bright sun it was still cold enough for a
scattering of ice along the side of the path
David was tempted to make a snow ball, but resisted the urge
to actually throw it at anyone.
This is quite an exposed walk, and can get very hot in the
summer. Despite the cold wind it was
very pleasant walking weather today.
The exposed landscape also makes it difficult to find
anywhere suitable, and sheltered, for lunch.
Pat managed to find a good spot today.
