8 Feb 2013 – Almond Blossom Walk

Every year the almond trees in the Jalon Valley blossom for a couple of weeks which attracts hordes of walkers – including David and Rosemary
The blossoms are early this year, probably due to the mild winter we have had.  However this week it has turned much colder so the blossoms may not last much longer
David and Rosemary were in Jalon to join the U3A so we suggested walking to Parcent to admire the almond blossoms and have a meal at Tramonti.
Jan does not want to tackle any difficult walks until her broken wrist has healed.   Jalon to Parcent is about 10km and on very good paths, making it an ideal walk.
Despite the lower temperatures and a very cold wind it was a very enjoyable walk, followed by an excellent meal at Tramonti.
